Boss Talk with Alyssa Francois Founder of Coveted Style

Alyssa Francois is here “inspiring you to elevate every day.”

When she’s not working in corporate for a beauty/skincare brand, she’s running her online boutique Coveted Style. Launched in 2017, Coveted Style was created for the stylish and driven, modern woman.

What sparked the idea of Coveted Style?

I had an issue with the way I was shopping in fast fashion. I kept buying things and never wearing them again, and I began to realize that nothing in stores was really sparking my interest and personal style so I decided to search for my own pieces.

We love the name Coveted Style! How did you come up with the name?

When I thought about the DNA of my business, at the core it’s about the bold woman that has a style and life that others covet.

What do you want Coveted Style to accomplish in the new few years?

I want Coveted Style to grow into an attainable luxury lifestyle business for women.

Do you believe in work-life balance? Do you feel like you achieve this in your everyday life?

I believe in work/life balance wholeheartedly. Some say it doesn’t exist, but I believe you create the balance that works for you. I do feel that I achieve this in my everyday life but every week is different especially as I have a day job in corporate as well.

What is a typical day in your life?

Well, since we’re living this new normal, I am working from home but my morning and evening routine hasn’t changed. I am a morning person, I typically wake up by 5:00 am, have a cup of tea, pray, read a few articles, and do business stuff before I walk my dog, DJ. After my morning routine, I log on for work at about 9 am, and around 5 pm I begin to unwind and work on my personal projects.

What is your definition of success?

My definition of success is being able to freely call the shots for how I want to live my life. Not what others want me to do.

What has been the most rewarding moment in business?

When Ari Lennox wore items from Coveted Style in her Shea Butter Baby music video.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs who just don’t know where to start?

Take the first step. Start where you are with what you have, create a budget, and stick to it!
